Grader - SS Day Shift

Job Overview

The role involves inspecting and grading products on the production line to ensure all items meet the specific quality, weight, and count criteria established by customers. Defective items must be identified and removed promptly according to designated standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Visually assess products as they are placed on the line to confirm adherence to customer quality and quantity requirements.
• Eliminate defective products by segregating them into specified defect categories.
• Successfully complete and pass a customer specification test to qualify for the position.
• Adapt by rotating to different line positions as necessary to support operations.
• Collaborate actively with team members, engaging in team meetings and contributing to continuous process improvements and policy implementations.
• Address areas of team discord promptly by communicating with leadership and supporting resolution efforts.
• Understand and comply with Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, and workplace policies, while being aware of the broader organizational impact of individual actions.
• Perform additional duties as required to support overall business goals.

Physical Demands and Environment

• Requires frequent standing for up to 10 hours per shift and activities involving twisting, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand and shoulder motions.
• Work is performed in an indoor environment with loud machinery, wet and cold conditions, navigating areas such as drains and hoses.
• Lifting up to 10 pounds may be needed according to the product line specifications.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, eyewear, smock, apron, gloves, hair/beard nets, and slip-resistant shoes must be worn as required.
