About the Role
As a General Mill Worker (GMW) Rollerspotter at Wilmar Sugar and Renewables, you will play an essential role during the crushing season from June to December. Your main duties will include performing routine gas metal arc welding (hard facing) on mill rollers, operating and maintaining both automated and stick welding equipment, and supporting the maintenance of plant and machinery. Meticulous process documentation and adherence to strict quality standards are critical in this role. During the maintenance season from January to May, your responsibilities will expand to include a variety of general mill worker tasks and duties classified under CUC competency as assigned by your supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain consistently high standards of housekeeping.
- Work safely and advocate for the safety of colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces if required.
- Assist in supervising small teams of rollerspotters.
- Comply with supervisor instructions and use all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required and Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Certification MEM05050 - Perform routine gas metal arc welding.
- Certification MEM05012 - Execute routine manual metal arc welding.
- Certification MEM11011 - Conduct manual handling tasks safely.
- Certification MEM13015 - Operate safely and efficiently within manufacturing and engineering settings.
- Possession of an Overhead (Gantry) Crane Ticket.
- Hold a Dogging High Risk Work Licence.
- Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication is preferred but not mandatory.
- Working at Heights certification is advantageous but not essential.
- Confined Space certification is a plus but not required.
A trade background is ideal, though not compulsory. A strong eagerness to gain new skills and contribute actively as part of the production team is highly valued. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time onsite role based at Invicta Mill in the Burdekin Region of Queensland, Australia. The job operates on a non-seasonal business unit basis, with responsibilities shifting between crushing and maintenance seasons throughout the year.
