General Labor/Maintenance Worker (Full Time)

SSC Services for Education is seeking to fill an immediate full-time General Labor/Maintenance position located primarily at Henderson State University, 1100 Henderson Street, Arkadelphia, AR, with other potential openings within the school district. Work Schedule and Location

The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with further details provided during the interview process. This role can be remote according to the posting but involves responsibilities typically performed on-site at the campus facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, detail-oriented customer service.
• Clean and polish furnishings and fixtures regularly.
• Conduct minor repairs on doors, furniture, and fixtures to maintain functionality.
• Record meter and gauge readings at specified intervals to ensure proper operation.
• Perform adjustments and minor maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation systems, including regularly replacing air filters.
• Ensure building safety by monitoring security, locking doors after hours, and checking electrical appliances to prevent hazards.
• Handle movement of heavy furniture and equipment manually or with hand trucks.
• Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, and clearing debris.
• Notify supervisors about major repair needs and system improvements.
• Remove snow from walkways, driveways, and parking lots as needed.
• Set up and take down decorations, chairs, tables, ladders, and scaffolding for events.
• Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, and trash disposal.
• Operate vehicles necessary to fulfill job duties.
• Carry out additional assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance is preferred, influencing starting pay rates.
• Possession of a valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $16.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
