Full-Time Licensed Millwright

About the Role

PepsiCo Foods Canada is currently seeking a Licensed Millwright for their Frito Lay facility located in Cambridge, Ontario. This full-time position offers competitive pay along with a dynamic and inclusive working environment aimed at employee growth, well-being, and sustainability.

Compensation and Shift Schedule

• Hourly wage set at $50.37 plus applicable shift premiums.
• Works rotating continental shifts: 2 weeks of day shifts (6am to 6pm) followed by 2 weeks of night shifts (6pm to 6am).

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently and downtime is minimized.
• Execute daily maintenance assignments prioritizing safety, quality, and operational effectiveness.
• Quickly address emergency equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot emerging issues effectively.
• Participate in root cause analysis and apply corrective actions to thwart repeated equipment failures.
• Collaborate closely with operators and fellow tradespeople to reduce downtime and identify possible safety and quality risks.
• Maintain clear communication during shift changes and team gatherings for seamless operational continuity.
• Exemplify strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a demanding, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a valid Ontario Millwright (433A) license is mandatory.
• Additional trade certifications such as electrical or welding licenses are advantageous and may merit extra compensation.
• High school education or GED equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in using machine shop tools and welding equipment.
• Physically capable of lifting tasks up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Positive work ethic with motivation to succeed and function effectively within a team.
• Committed to continuous improvement focused on safety, efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Basic computer skills sufficient to manage work orders and record maintenance activities.
• Previous experience with production or packaging machinery in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track and log work is beneficial.
• Willingness to be flexible with working hours including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
