Role Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Cashier presents an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail industry skills. The role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service throughout the checkout process to foster customer loyalty. Additionally, Cashiers play a critical role in safeguarding company assets by paying close attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet customers with politeness and friendliness.
- Efficiently complete purchase transactions, including deactivating merchandise in line with the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) program.
- Advocate for Walmart's sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charity drives.
- Assist customers with bagging and loading their purchases.
- Follow safe working procedures, practicing correct lifting techniques and maintaining a neat work environment.
- Protect register security and uphold cash handling integrity by adhering to company policies and staying vigilant.
- Refer relevant service and transaction matters to the Customer Service Manager when necessary.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.90.
