About the Role
Neighbourly Pharmacy's Pharmasave #438 in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, seeks a dedicated full-time Front Store Manager to lead and support initiatives aligned with the store's strategic goals. This role ensures compliance with company policies, oversees store operations, and fosters a positive work environment to attract and retain employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives consistent with the store's strategic objectives.
- Uphold and promote Neighbourly Pharmacy's policy manual, encouraging a workplace culture that engages employees.
- Manage store operations including handling returns, complaints, security, and employee discounts by delegating tasks when appropriate.
- Supervise cash handling processes, daily financial reporting, banking, and deposits.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed for store opening, closing, alarm activation, and day-end routines.
- Oversee all aspects of front store staffing.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to manage hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Control inventory in alignment with budgets and preferred supplier programs.
- Assist the Store Operator with budgeting, purchasing, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize gross margins.
- Plan and implement promotional activities including ordering and setup.
- Monitor market trends to adjust product mix, promotions, and merchandising accordingly.
- Minimize shrinkage from returns, payouts, theft, and pricing errors by ensuring proper receiving and pricing procedures.
- Manage the Monthly Cycle Count Schedule and report inventory data to the Neighbourly Pharmacy Inventory Manager.
- Organize signage and point-of-purchase materials placement, such as banners and shelf talkers.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks supporting the Store Operator, Pharmacy Manager, and District Director.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in retail management is preferred, demonstrating effective team leadership and training capabilities.
- Excellent people management and interpersonal skills including motivation, delegation, conflict resolution, active listening, and respectful communication.
- Professional demeanor with strong communication skills for interactions with customers, team members, and suppliers.
- Experience in retail giftware merchandising is a beneficial asset.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Criminal Record Check completion is mandatory.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position working approximately 40 hours per week.
- Store hours run Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Scheduled shifts will be within the store operating hours, with occasional weekend availability as needed to meet operational demands.
