Role Overview
The Food Runner plays a crucial role in facilitating smooth meal service by swiftly delivering food and beverages from the kitchen directly to guests' tables, while also supporting the serving staff during busy service periods. This full-time, on-premises position in Dubai requires close collaboration with kitchen expeditors and staff to verify order accuracy, proper plating, and optimal food temperature upon delivery.
Key Duties
- Transporting trays and ensuring timely delivery of dishes to correct tables.
- Confirming table numbers and occasionally describing dishes to guests when requested.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of service stations and pass-through areas.
- Assisting in resetting tables and replenishing service items.
- Working responsively with servers and supervisors to address guests’ needs promptly.
Candidate Qualifications
- Prior experience in an expeditor or similar support role within food service or restaurant operations.
- Effective communication skills enabling strong teamwork between kitchen staff, servers, and guests.
- A hospitality-oriented approach focused on creating positive customer experiences.
- Familiarity with food and beverage service standards and basic table etiquette.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, carry trays securely, and move efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in upscale or fine-dining venues is a benefit.
- Basic proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with restaurant schedules.
- A team-player mindset, dependability, and adherence to grooming standards with a professional appearance.
