Job description
Overview
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) aims to develop Singapore's air hub and aviation sector, enhancing global connectivity and creating opportunities via aviation. The Safety Regulation Group (SRG) is dedicated to overseeing safety in civil aviation operations in Singapore and for Singapore-registered aircraft abroad, safeguarding travelers, personnel, and property, while supporting sustainable industry growth.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of SRG, you will manage safety oversight responsibilities covering Singapore-based air operators, flight crews, and general aviation. Your role involves shaping and enforcing safety standards and regulations, conducting research on flight operations advancements, and ensuring compliance through approval and monitoring of local and foreign air operators, aviation training organizations, flight simulators, and flight personnel.
Assessing safety management systems, monitoring overall industry safety performance, and fostering a robust safety culture are critical aspects. Additionally, you will participate in aviation incident and accident investigations, and collaborate with international aviation safety partners.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), ideally including a Flight Instructor Rating, or has held operational flight management roles with a recognized air operator.
- Accumulated a minimum of 5,000 hours piloting civil transport aircraft or equivalent military types.
- Experience in civil aviation management, regulatory functions, or pilot training is desirable.
- Military officers from the Republic of Singapore Air Force with operational flying experience and leadership positions such as unit commander are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment towards enhancing aviation safety.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and foreign nationals.
Additional Information
Successful applicants will initially be engaged on a three-year contract, with potential for permanent appointment in renewal phases.
