Flex Shopper - Full Time

Overview

Join Whole Foods Market as an In-Store Flex Shopper, delivering outstanding customer experiences by preparing orders for online delivery and store pickup. You will select a variety of products including fresh produce, meat, dairy, household essentials, prepared foods, specialty cheeses, wine, and beer. This role demands flexibility to work during peak times, such as weekends, holidays, early mornings, mid-days, evenings, and the busy holiday season from November to January. Schedules are provided 14 days ahead and shifts typically last between 4 and 8 hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately fulfill online orders using handheld or fixed digital devices, maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
• Verify order accuracy and conduct thorough quality checks to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Acquire and apply product knowledge, as well as customer service and store operational standards, to provide excellent service.
• Maintain an organized and clutter-free staging area for order preparation.
• Manage returns and pickup requests for both in-store and online orders.
• Adhere to legal requirements, such as verifying age for restricted items.
• Address customer inquiries and provide relevant store information.
• Keep up to date on products and promotional events.
• Foster a positive work environment and communicate courteously and collaboratively with team members.
• Attend leadership meetings and daily briefings as required.
• Support company programs, technological tools, and varied store formats.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards including safety and store security.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

• No previous retail experience required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient English to accurately prepare and process customer orders.
• Minimum age requirement of 18 years.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Ability to stand and walk for 4-8 hours per shift.
• Capable of lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in varying temperature environments, from freezers to heated areas.
• Tasks may require repetitive motions like bending, reaching, grasping, twisting, and squatting.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents and operation of retail equipment.
• Occasional use of ladders and other specialized e-commerce tools may be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly wage ranges from $15.00 to $24.40, aligned with experience. Benefit eligibility depends on job type, location, and length of employment. New employees who successfully complete their first 90 days may qualify for a pay raise after this period.
