Job Purpose
The Fire Fighter role entails responding to emergencies within airport premises, including aircraft fires, structural fires, medical incidents, and hazardous materials situations. The position ensures the safety of passengers, crew, and staff by providing firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond swiftly to emergencies such as aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical cases, hazardous material leaks, and similar crises on airport grounds.
- Execute firefighting tactics using water, foam, dry chemicals, and other agents to suppress fires effectively.
- Conduct search and rescue operations in environments with smoke or hazards.
- Provide first aid and basic life support until advanced medical aid arrives, and assist patient transport to healthcare facilities.
- Carry out daily checks and upkeep of firefighting vehicles, equipment, and protective gear to maintain operational readiness.
- Maintain inventory and ensure availability of firefighting supplies.
- Participate regularly in emergency drills, ICAO-mandated training, and simulations to stay prepared.
- Document incident details, training records, and shift logs comprehensively for audits and regulatory purposes.
- Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and SOPs governing firefighting and emergency responses.
- Identify hazards during patrols and implement immediate corrective measures.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Duty Manager, Airport Operations, Security, Medical Services, Engineering & Maintenance, and HSE, as well as external bodies including Local Fire Services, Airlines, Ground Handling companies, equipment providers, insurers, community leaders, and Civil Aviation authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or a related qualification.
- Certification from a recognized firefighting academy is mandatory.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of firefighting experience preferred, ideally in aircraft rescue and firefighting operations.

Diploma / ITI / Vocational
