Overview

We seek a motivated, cooperative individual with a proactive mindset to become part of our welcoming and supportive Finance & Risk Group. This permanent full-time position is located in our central Wellington office on Cuba Mall. Reporting directly to the Manager ERP, the Financial Systems Budgeting & Reporting Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the organisation's financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be accountable for maintaining and enhancing financial systems, ensuring the provision of precise and timely financial reports, and delivering analytical insights to facilitate informed decision-making across Greater Wellington. Collaborating closely with teams from Finance, ICT, and various business units, you will drive improvements in system functionality, optimise processes, and promote effective utilisation of financial data to align with organisational goals and operational outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial information and produce practical insights.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and ERP platforms, preferably TechnologyOne.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modelling, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Experience in developing and managing financial reports, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Experience in supporting system enhancements, conducting testing, automating processes, and fostering ongoing improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage several priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline; CA or CPA credentials are advantageous.

Salary

The comprehensive remuneration package ranges from $101,204 to $151,806 per annum, with a median value of $126,505. The starting salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
