Job description
Overview
We are seeking a Financial Director to lead and manage the company's core finance and accounting functions, ensuring precise financial reporting, robust internal controls, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient transaction management within Panda’s retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the General Ledger operations, ensuring timely and accurate transaction entries and managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts diligently, uphold accounting policies consistently, and supervise the accounting treatment of complex business transactions.
- Direct the end-to-end Accounts Payable processes, including trade and non-trade AP management, invoice matching accuracy, and maintaining controls around vendor payments and approvals.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and collection efforts while maintaining controls to minimize financial exposure.
- Implement and enforce strong financial controls across all accounting procedures, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions to enhance compliance and performance.
- Manage the company’s Zakat and Tax compliance, including VAT, withholding tax, submissions, audits, and interaction with regulatory authorities, reducing risks through thorough governance.
- Lead statutory and financial reporting ensuring compliance with accounting standards and timely coordination with external auditors.
- Strengthen retail finance governance by collaborating with cross-functional departments to enhance process efficiency, automate workflows, and support business transformation initiatives.
- Provide leadership and development to finance teams, establishing clear goals and fostering a culture focused on accuracy, compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performance Metrics
- Timeliness and precision of financial closings and reporting.
- Audit findings severity and control effectiveness.
- Reconciliation quality and aging management of balance sheets, AP, and AR.
- Accuracy and promptness in tax filings and statutory compliance.
- Improvements in finance process automation and team capability development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications like SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent preferred.
- At least 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounting with significant leadership roles, ideally within large, complex organizations.
- Background in retail, FMCG, or high-volume transactional industries is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial controls, statutory reporting, and tax compliance.
- Familiarity with IFRS and Saudi regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with auditors, tax authorities, finance transformation projects, process enhancements, ERP implementations, and automation initiatives.
