Job Overview
As part of the Ghana Program Finance Team, the Finance Coordinator plays a crucial role assisting the Finance Manager by ensuring effective financial operations, regulatory compliance, payroll management, and human resource administration in accordance with organizational policies, donor mandates, and Ghanaian legal standards. This position involves handling a substantial volume of operational tasks to maintain sound internal controls and boost adherence.

Reporting & Collaboration
- Reports directly to the Finance Manager.
- Collaborates closely with the Programs team.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with processing payment requests while keeping thorough records.
- Maintain accurate logs of financial transactions as instructed.
- Oversee petty cash funds and mobile money disbursements.
- Coordinate activities following payroll processing, including PAYE, pensions, and insurance.
- Ensure correct withholding and remittance of applicable taxes.
- Support processes related to budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
- Maintain employee records and human resources files.
- Help administer employee benefits and insurance matters.
- Coordinate procurement activities and documentation upkeep.
- Maintain vendor and contract registries.
- Perform additional finance and HR duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICA, CIMA) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of fundamental human resource management, payroll, and statutory obligations.
- Three to five years of experience in financial management within the NGO sector.
- Experience with international organizations is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of Ghanaian taxation and labor legislation.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software systems.
- Effective communication capabilities.
- Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office applications.
