Role Overview
Join our team as a dependable, safety-focused, and technologically adept Field Data Collection Driver, contributing to a cutting-edge digital mapping initiative. You will operate a company vehicle outfitted with advanced 360-degree camera equipment to gather street-view imagery used by global geospatial and navigation platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a vehicle equipped with specialized camera systems to capture comprehensive 360-degree street imagery.
- Adhere to assigned daily routes precisely.
- Upload data from onboard devices following each shift.
- Perform routine checks on all equipment to ensure optimal function.
- Maintain communication with technical support for issue resolution and updates.
- Present a professional and respectful demeanor while representing the program publicly.
Candidate Profile
- Responsible driver comfortable operating technology and working autonomously.
- Committed to vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety guidelines.
Additional Information
- All necessary equipment, vehicles, and comprehensive training will be provided.
- Candidates are required to pass background checks, regular safety screenings, and complete onboarding procedures.
- Work schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility based on route completion and weather conditions.
- Ability to drive up to 8 hours daily on public roads, occasionally covering extensive distances.
- Preferred access to secure parking with CCTV for the company vehicle; support may be available for eligible applicants.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driving license with a minimum of three years' experience; five or more years preferred.
- Clean driving record without major infractions in the last three years.
- High attention to detail and familiarity with mobile or in-vehicle technology usage.
- Capability to occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 25 lbs (10-15kg) and handle basic physical setup tasks.
- Self-driven, reliable, and able to perform independently for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in field data gathering, delivery driving, or roles related to GIS.
- Awareness of geospatial technologies or enthusiasm for mapping systems.
