Role Overview
Reporting to the Agri Transport Manager and supporting the Ingredients Production Planning Manager, the Fertiliser & Grain Planner is responsible for devising efficient transport and production schedules. This role encompasses optimizing transport plans for inter-site movements and distribution routes across Ireland, as well as managing the oats mill production schedules to meet customer demands without generating waste or negatively affecting commercial and operational targets.
Key Duties
- Collaborate with purchasing teams, vendors, and hauliers to ensure timely and complete product deliveries.
- Maintain and enhance service quality and relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Coordinate transport logistics of harvest movements among farms, branches, and drying facilities.
- Handle offline invoicing and address daily ad-hoc operational queries.
- Cross-train across transport networks to assist during peak periods.
- Partner with logistics, planning teams, and key stakeholders to continuously enhance collection, delivery, planning processes, costs, and systems.
- Monitor, analyse, and report key performance indicators, utilizing data insights to support decision-making among stakeholders.
- Propose and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, contributing to strategic and operational projects.
- Ensure all administrative documentation is completed accurately and thoroughly.
- Develop SKU-level production plans, adjusting for fluctuations in demand, stock levels, machine efficiency, yield, labor, and transport availability.
- Coordinate with TPMs to align production completion with customer orders.
- Take an active role in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Provide forecasting analysis to ensure synchronization between forecasted demand, plant capacity, and production schedules.
- Serve as a proactive participant in the 3M process, adopting GPS-related tools to improve services and workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in supply chain, transport, or production planning roles.
- Relevant third-level qualification such as Supply Chain, Business, or Agriculture.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and critical thinking capabilities.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, and energetic approach to work.
- Problem-solving acumen with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency with IT systems including SAP, Ortec, Millwheel, SAC and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
