Factory Manager

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Factory Manager to oversee comprehensive factory operations within the dairy, food processing, or FMCG sectors in Zambia. The role requires leadership over multiple departments including Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).

Key Responsibilities

• Direct overall factory functions encompassing production processes, engineering, quality assurance, operational planning, and safety protocols.
• Supervise aseptic processing alongside Tetra Pak packaging systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Enhance production performance by boosting operational efficiency, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), productivity rates, yield improvements, and cost reductions.
• Oversee budgeting, operational planning, and implement strict cost control measures for the factory.
• Ensure adherence to food safety standards including HACCP, FSSC 22000, and GMP requirements.
• Lead initiatives in Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Kaizen, and continuous improvement strategies.
• Manage and guide teams to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and business objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Dairy Technology, or Manufacturing is mandatory.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in manufacturing within dairy, food, beverage, or FMCG industries.
• Proven background in senior leadership roles within plant or factory environments.
• Preferred expertise in Aseptic Processing and familiarity with Tetra Pak technology.
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety compliance, quality management, maintenance operations, cost control, and human resource management.
