Job description
Position Overview
The Prairie South School Division #210 is hiring a permanent Facility Operator for A.E. Peacock Collegiate starting September 9, 2026. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of school buildings and surrounding grounds while assisting the Head Facility Operator.
Work Schedule
The operator will work rotating shifts, alternating each week between day and night schedules. Day shifts run Wednesday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with weekend daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Night shifts occur Wednesday through Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Job Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintenance of both interior and exterior areas of school division properties
- Supporting the Head Facility Operator with related duties
Requirements
- Completion of at least Grade 10 or equivalent GED
- Possession of a valid Fireman’s certificate if legislation requires
- Minimum six months experience in a custodial or caretaking role
- Basic computer literacy
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Physical capability to perform strenuous tasks including lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, and working in various environments such as crawlspaces, attics, roofs, and on ladders
Compensation and Benefits
Wages are set according to the CUPE Local 5512 Collective Bargaining Agreement, ranging between $23.26 and $25.67 per hour.
