Role Overview
The Facilities and Stores Assistant is responsible for managing access and scheduling of recreational facilities and services, handling memberships and fees, conducting routine safety inspections, maintaining inventory and consumables, and performing minor repairs and maintenance on equipment. The role supports the operational readiness of Canadian Armed Forces personnel and their families by ensuring facilities and equipment are safe and well-maintained.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with practical experience in supply or warehouse settings, or a suitable mix of education, training, and experience.
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
- Valid Newfoundland and Labrador driver’s license.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of sports and fitness equipment.
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge in maintaining grounds, buildings, and facilities.
- Experience servicing motorized equipment.
Competencies and Language
- Strong client focus and effective communication skills.
- Understanding of organizational policies and practices.
- Ability to innovate and work cooperatively within teams.
- Leadership capabilities.
- Fluency in English is essential.

Additional Information
- This is an on-site role based in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador.
- The position requires moderate physical activity including lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing loads between 10 lbs (4.5 kg) and 50 lbs (23 kg).
- The role supports operational readiness by contributing fitness, sports, recreation, and health promotion activities to military communities.
- Start date: Immediate.
