Role Overview
The Explosive Ordnance Engineer will collaborate closely with clients to execute engineering tasks as outlined in the GWEO Delivery Division Engineering Management Plan and associated systems. This role emphasizes maintaining the technical integrity of all project-related materials and includes various deliverables such as registration information, technical reviews, engineering planning and analysis, configuration control, and certification preparations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage registration and technical documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of technical information.
- Plan and coordinate engineering and certification activities.
- Prepare and support Configuration Control Boards.
- Create, update, and refine engineering artefacts in response to reviews and changes.
- Perform engineering analyses including failure mode and hazard identification.
- Assess and communicate risks, suggesting effective mitigations following established control hierarchies.
- Maintain and update product configuration baselines.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Previous delegation as an Engineer or higher under MEOSPO, AEOSPO, or LEOSPO frameworks with verified documentation.
- Specialist training in explosive ordnance engineering.
- Experience producing detailed design documents, specialist engineering reports, and contract-related documentation.
- Tertiary education in a relevant engineering discipline complemented by specialized guided weapons engineering training.
- Prior experience with explosive ordnance certification consistent with AOP 15 requirements.
EMS Assurance Officer Opportunity
QinetiQ also seeks skilled individuals to fulfill the EMS Assurance Officer role, focusing on the assurance and certification of Engineering Management Systems within the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance environment. Responsibilities include supporting compliance with ADF’s technical regulatory framework, preparing organisations for certification, performing audits, and providing clear, evidence-based recommendations regarding certification and compliance status.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must be eligible for Australian Government Security Clearance.
