Role Overview
The Equity Options desk at IMC is rapidly expanding, trading a broad spectrum of individual stocks in the APAC region. This team leverages state-of-the-art execution platforms, proprietary financial models, and high-quality market data to engage in both high-frequency and directional trading strategies. To support this growth, the firm is seeking an accomplished Equity Options Trader to drive performance and foster innovation within the desk.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and manage equity options trading strategies focusing on key APAC single stock equities, utilizing both personal insights and the collective research and tools of the team.
- Work closely with quantitative researchers, software developers, and execution specialists to enhance pricing accuracy, hedging techniques, and risk management processes.
- Make prompt, informed trading decisions in response to live market conditions, volatility changes, and order flow.
- Lead the ongoing advancement of the equity options trading desk, including strategy optimization and exploring new market opportunities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior traders, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate team capabilities.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- At least five years of experience handling an equity options portfolio focused on the Hong Kong market within a trading firm, bank, or market-making environment.
- Proven record of generating profits through directional or volatility-based trading strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of options Greeks, volatility surface behaviors, and market microstructure details.
- Decisive, confident trader with a robust risk management approach and an entrepreneurial outlook.
