Envoy API Engineer

Role Summary and Expectations

This role requires advanced expertise in programming, specifically in Golang or Java. The candidate must have substantial hands-on experience working with cloud-native systems and demonstrate professional knowledge of Envoy Proxy or Envoy Gateway. A robust grasp of API design principles, particularly the OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for RESTful APIs, is essential.

Core Responsibilities and Skills

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Golang or Java with high proficiency.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native applications effectively, utilizing contemporary cloud platforms.
• Implement and configure Envoy Proxy or Envoy Gateway components to support scalable and secure API gateways.
• Apply OpenAPI standards to design and document RESTful APIs clearly and consistently.
• Integrate and enforce secure authentication and authorization mechanisms at the gateway layer, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT token validation, and mutual TLS (mTLS) protocols.
• Leverage DevOps tools and practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, Kubernetes orchestration, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
