About the Role
An opportunity at a consulting firm in Vadodara for an experienced IT/OT Integration Engineer to facilitate seamless integration of industrial automation systems (PLC/SCADA) with MES and enterprise platforms. The position primarily involves working on OPC UA integration, NodeSet standardization, and ensuring dependable data transmission across multiple vendor systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate systems including PLC, SCADA, and MES from various vendors.
- Design and deploy OPC UA architecture, including creation and validation of NodeSets.
- Maintain compliance with data standards, naming conventions, and templates.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage PLC tags, telemetry, alarms, and event data.
- Support comprehensive data flow processes spanning PLC to SCADA to MES.
- Verify PLC tag lists, SCADA data models, telemetry streams, and alarm configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve integration and communication issues.
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in industrial automation and IT/OT system integration.
- Deep knowledge of OPC UA including client/server roles and data modeling techniques.
- Experience generating and managing NodeSets.
- Hands-on familiarity with PLC systems such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Beckhoff.
- Experience with SCADA platforms like Ignition.
- Understanding MES integration fundamentals and industrial communication protocols including OPC UA, TCP/IP, and Profinet.
- Knowledge of ISA-95 data standardization.
Preferred Experience
- Working in multi-vendor industrial environments.
- Background in battery manufacturing or process industries.
- Familiarity with standards IEC 81346 and ISA S5.1.
- Between 7 to 10 years involvement in IT/OT integration or related automation projects.
