Job description
Role Overview
The EMEA Scheduling Manager will lead the scheduling strategy and governance for Amazon's rapidly expanding data center construction portfolio across the EMEA region. This position is pivotal in setting scheduling standards, ensuring consistent execution, and enhancing schedule predictability and reporting to support safe, efficient, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the regional scheduling strategy and governance framework.
- Establish and update scheduling standards such as Work Breakdown Structures, milestone definitions, schedule quality benchmarks, and activity coding.
- Drive continuous improvements to increase schedule accuracy and project delivery effectiveness.
- Oversee contractor compliance with scheduling standards, performing schedule audits, logic reviews, and maturity assessments.
- Collaborate closely with General Contractors, Construction Managers, and project controls partners to enhance schedule quality and consistency.
- Lead schedule recovery efforts, delay analysis, and mitigation planning for projects at risk.
- Manage integration of scheduling with cost, risk, and commissioning controls while supporting portfolio-level reporting and dashboards.
- Provide strategic scheduling guidance throughout the project lifecycle from preconstruction to completion.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives enhancing scheduling tools like Primavera P6 and Procore Scheduling.
- Develop training resources and nurture scheduling capabilities across the regional team and external partners.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related technical discipline.
- Proven experience with construction, project management, or working on mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, or military installations.
- Strong expertise in scheduling methodologies including Critical Path Method (CPM), schedule risk assessment, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and project management software; familiarity with enterprise scheduling platforms is highly valued.
- Skilled in contractor negotiation and management, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear communication of complex information.
- Experience in developing scheduling governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives on a regional or enterprise scale.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6 Enterprise, Procore Scheduling, Power BI, SQL, or similar data analytics and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and schedule forecasting techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable scheduling processes suitable for large organizations.
