Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant-wide electrical machinery and systems.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, control panels, and electrical distribution infrastructures.
  • Contribute to electrical tasks involved in plant expansion, modifications, and upgrade projects.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical equipment and promptly report any abnormalities encountered.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and perform timely repairs to reduce downtime.
  • Assist with cable installation, termination, panel wiring, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Keep updated electrical drawings, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and organizational policies.
  • Support shutdown maintenance undertakings and address emergency breakdown repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and project teams to ensure effective work execution.
  • Oversee the maintenance of lighting systems, power distribution networks, and secondary equipment.
  • Help test protective relays, circuit breakers, and other electrical protection devices.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to boost equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in electrical rooms, workshops, and work areas.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance, especially within manufacturing, utilities, or paper mill environments.
  • Proficient with motors, MCCs, transformers, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and fault diagnosis techniques.
  • Experience in industrial project involvement and electrical equipment commissioning is preferable.
