Electrical Technician - Data Center Operations & Maintenance

Overview

We are inviting applications for the position of Electrical Technician to join a critical Data Center Operations & Maintenance team. This role is pivotal in upholding the electrical infrastructure to guarantee continuous uptime and optimal operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on essential electrical equipment.
• Oversee and sustain UPS systems, battery banks, generators, ATS/STS devices, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, and low voltage power distribution setups.
• Perform regular inspections, monitor alarm systems, and proactively detect issues before failures occur.
• Assist in power switching operations, manage shutdown procedures, support commissioning tasks, and execute emergency power recovery when necessary.
• Diagnose electrical malfunctions, power irregularities, and component breakdowns.
• Adhere strictly to Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), Permit to Work (PTW), and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) protocols.
• Document maintenance activities, incident details, inspection findings, and prepare shift handover reports meticulously.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least eight years' experience specifically in Data Center Operations & Maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of essential power infrastructure and electrical testing methodologies.
• Experience with Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Certifications such as C-Net, Uptime Institute credentials, EPI, or similar are preferred.
• Availability and readiness to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
