Job Overview
The role of Electrical QA/QC Engineer focuses on verifying that all electrical installation and inspection activities adhere strictly to project standards, client demands, applicable codes, and international regulations, particularly within Oil & Gas sectors. This includes applying the project's Quality Management System, generating quality-related documents, managing inspection coordination, and maintaining thorough quality records throughout the project duration.
Core Duties
- Develop and uphold Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures related to electrical works.
- Confirm that electrical installations align with approved technical drawings, project criteria, client's requirements, and international benchmarks.
- Create and sustain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and QA/QC procedures.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and site staff to ensure quality standards are met on site.
- Prepare and submit Requests for Inspection, coordinating inspections involving clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors.
- Carry out and observe inspections for installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical components.
- Oversee site inspections ensuring prompt resolution of comments, punch list items, and non-conformance reports.
- Review and prepare technical and material submittals, product datasheets, and related quality documents for client approval.
- Maintain records such as inspection reports, testing results, calibration data, and quality dossiers.
- Ensure that testing and commissioning procedures comply with approved protocols and project needs.
- Detect quality-related problems and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning units to address quality concerns.
- Engage in internal and external quality audits and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Compile the final quality documentation and handover materials on project completion.
Candidate Requirements
- Holder of a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- At least five years experience as an Electrical QA/QC Engineer.
- Proven experience within Oil & Gas projects is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical installation standards, QA/QC methods, inspection/testing protocols, and quality document management.
- Skilled in drafting Quality Plans, ITPs, Method Statements, RFIs, technical and material submittals, and product datasheets.
- Knowledge of international standards like IEC, NEC, BS, ISO 9001, plus Oil & Gas client-specific criteria.
- Registration with UPDA/MMUP engineering boards is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Qatar driving license is a plus.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting capabilities.
