Role Overview
We are currently seeking experienced Maintainer Operators holding an Electrical Trade qualification to join our manufacturing team at Laminex Taupō. This practical position blends electrical skills with hands-on manufacturing operations, focusing on plant maintenance, fault diagnosis, and performance optimization. Key tasks include configuring machinery, continuous monitoring, making live adjustments, supporting quality assurance, handling troubleshooting, and operating forklifts to ensure uninterrupted production.
The role involves rotating shifts: four days on and four days off, alternating between two day shifts and two night shifts, averaging a 42-hour workweek.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- At least two years of manufacturing experience combined with an Electrical Trade certification (Level 4).
- Proven expertise in equipment maintenance, fault-finding, and plant machinery operation and setup.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality benchmarks, and teamwork.
- Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook and Word, alongside familiarity with plant control systems.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with eagerness to quickly learn, adapt and apply technical knowledge practically.
- Capable of working autonomously while being a cooperative team player.
- Physically capable of working at heights and in enclosed areas.
- Possession of a Class 1 Full Driver’s Licence; forklift operating license (OSH) is advantageous.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must successfully pass pre-employment medical exams and criminal background checks. Only candidates legally permitted to work in New Zealand should apply.
