Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for an Electrical Engineer stationed onsite at Ras Laffan. The engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and maintaining electrical systems and power distribution networks to support AMWAJ Group's facilities and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications for electrical projects.
• Conduct load calculations and perform thorough system analyses to ensure optimal design.
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors to coordinate electrical installations and commissioning.
• Guarantee all electrical systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and health & safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues to diagnose and resolve technical problems promptly.
• Support preventive maintenance initiatives aimed at enhancing the reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A minimum of five years’ experience in camp operations is essential.
• Must be prepared to relocate and live in the Ras Laffan camp.
• Strong capability in electrical design including creation of schematics, layouts, and comprehensive technical documentation.
• Expertise in power systems and distribution, encompassing load analysis, protection coordination, and ensuring system reliability.
• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Good understanding of both international and local electrical codes, standards, and health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Proven ability to work effectively onsite within multidisciplinary teams and liaise with contractors and vendors.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving acuity, attention to detail, communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety.
• Professional experience in facilities management, industrial projects or the Oil & Gas industry is advantageous.
