About the Company

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a foremost global provider specializing in integrated facilities and corporate real estate management services. The organization is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to become part of their team.

Role Summary and Responsibilities

  • Address breakdown maintenance requests promptly in compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Possess technical knowledge related to computer rooms, call centers, and trading floor operations, including power systems, UPS, CPS, distribution, and cooling equipment.
  • Perform repairs on modular UPS systems as necessary.
  • Conduct testing and diagnosis of power quality problems such as harmonic distortion using on-site power analysis tools.
  • Implement a risk-conscious maintenance strategy and operate plant and systems within data centers or critical environments.
  • Provide emergency response support, including standby and call-out duties.
  • Escalate critical issues to the Technical Services Manager promptly.
  • React to interruptions, outages, or emergencies consistent with SLA requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering maintenance documentation and records for all critical systems.
  • Inform the Facilities Management team regarding changes in critical environmental requirements.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard contracted hours when necessary.
  • Conduct site surveys and prepare associated Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned maintenance or upgrade activities.
  • Carry out upgrade and installation tasks as required.
  • Interpret technical drawings, instructions, operational processes, and Operation & Maintenance manuals effectively.
  • Ensure completion of all reactive Helpdesk maintenance requests.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze environmental conditions and assess loading/operating conditions of critical equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to financial procedures throughout operational activities.
  • Complete detailed incident reports within 24 business hours for abnormal system availability incidents, including root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
  • Submit reviewed incident documentation to the Technical Services Manager, ensuring all action items are documented and completed.
  • Log quotations and remedial work details into the company’s internal system accurately.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in electrical installation and maintenance providing adequate practical experience to be assessed as electrically competent.
  • Possession of a City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate or an equivalent qualification in an electrical discipline.
  • Holding a City and Guilds 2382 Level 3 certificate for electrical installation requirements according to BS 7671 (18th Edition) or an equivalent certification.

Preferred Skills and Additional Qualifications

  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) certification.
  • Possession of a JIB skills card.
  • City and Guilds Level 3 certifications in the inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations or equivalents.
  • Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS), including fault diagnosis and operation.
  • Familiarity with Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems, Fan Coil Units (FCU), chilled water circuits (passive and active), and chilled beams.
  • Knowledge and experience of HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills at all hierarchical levels.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service delivery.
  • Ability to self-organize, manage assigned tasks, and determine required materials.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH, working at heights, and risk assessments.
  • Health and Safety certifications such as IOSH and/or NEBOSH.
  • Experience with emergency response procedures including standby and call-out protocols.
  • Understanding of utility monitoring and environmental programs.
  • Certification as or experience performing duties as an Authorised Person (e.g., AP15/12).
