About the Role
A leading global manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their dynamic production facility near the Cavan/Monaghan border. This position represents a valuable career growth opportunity within an advanced corporate EHS team focused on upholding world-class health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management in regularly reviewing, updating, and implementing comprehensive health and safety operating procedures.
- Perform frequent on-site inspections, including floor walks, risk evaluations, and compliance checks to mitigate workplace hazards proactively.
- Manage reporting and documentation of near-misses and minor incidents, aiding in root-cause analysis and ensuring follow-up corrective measures are tracked.
- Support the creation and delivery of safety training materials for new hires and organize periodic refresher sessions to maintain corporate safety compliance.
- Actively promote the EHS agenda during operational and production meetings, influencing cross-functional teams to adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years’ hands-on experience in a dedicated health and safety role, preferably within fast-moving manufacturing, food processing, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Possession of a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or an equivalent environmental discipline is desirable.
- Proficient in IT, especially Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint, and experienced with shared document management systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate safety instructions clearly and develop collaborative relationships across various departments.
