EHS Manager

Role Overview

Lead and promote safety initiatives on construction projects, ensuring alignment with both company policies and legal safety mandates, while fostering a robust safety culture at the worksite.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and uphold safety measures compliant with company and statutory requirements related to site activities.
• Apply knowledge of EHS standards, specifically ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, to operational processes.
• Utilize techniques and technology for evaluating and managing risks effectively.
• Stay informed about legal and regulatory expectations pertinent to construction projects.
• Collaborate effectively with teams, leveraging a strong understanding of construction processes.
• Adapt quickly to dynamic site conditions and environments.
• Develop permanent risk mitigation strategies, employing innovative engineering controls.
• Experience in digital systems for EHS database management and reporting.
• Perform audits as an internal or lead auditor for ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018.
• Prepare Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), as well as Aspect, Impact, and Significance Registers.
• Conduct training sessions addressing various EHS topics for the workforce.
• Possess solid knowledge of fire safety, including prevention techniques and fire load calculations.
• Compile detailed reports on incidents, lessons learned, and issue safety alerts.
• Develop Integrated Management System (IMS) documentation aligned with contract stipulations of significant national and international clients, including metro projects.
• Oversee EHS management systems for subcontractors.
• Apply safety principles within design phases where relevant.
• Travel between sites as necessary to advise senior management on safety matters.
• Organize and lead EHS committee meetings and provide presentations during safety reviews.
