Role Overview
The Donor Services Coordinator plays a key role in delivering a donor-first experience that supports The Salvation Army's fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include issuing receipts and thank-you letters for donations, managing financial reconciliations and reporting, overseeing donation records, supporting various giving programs, and assisting in campaign strategy.
Core Responsibilities
- Handle all donation documentation, including receipts and acknowledgements, ensuring donor inquiries are addressed promptly through multiple communication channels.
- Administer In-Memoriam and tribute gifts, maintaining accurate tracking and acknowledgments.
- Update and maintain comprehensive donor profiles using Raiser’s Edge NXT, including data entry and handling duplicate receipts.
- Resolve donor queries received via national call centers or the Finance department efficiently and courteously.
- Provide operational support during staff absences or busy periods to uphold donor service quality.
- Conduct research on potential donors and compile detailed reports that aid in fundraising strategies.
- Support development officers with insights into campaign planning, donor contacts, and philanthropy trends.
- Manage donation deposits, maintain departmental records, coordinate team activities, and support financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Ensure adherence to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines related to donations, manage gift reversals, update records accordingly, and oversee annual tax receipt distribution.
- Oversee the national monthly giving program, from donor enrollment and transaction troubleshooting to stewardship and financial reconciliation coordination.
Qualification Requirements
- A post-secondary diploma lasting two to three years in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least three years in donor relations or customer service, ideally with experience utilizing Raiser’s Edge NXT or comparable CRM systems.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities effectively in a dynamic work environment.
- An acute attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, paired with excellent data entry and knowledge of fundraising software.
- Strong interpersonal skills, being tactful, courteous, and prompt in interactions while maintaining compliance.
- High ethical standards, sound decision-making, and trusted management of confidential information.
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused attitude.
Compensation Details
The salary range for this position spans from $52,811.20 to $65,998.40 annually, with a maximum potential salary of $79,206.40. Placement within this range depends on market trends, internal equity, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
