Role Overview
Join a rapidly expanding commercial construction company based in Townsville, Queensland, in a multifaceted Document Controller / Office Coordinator position. Your main responsibility centers on managing project documentation to ensure it remains accurate, well-organized, and easily accessible throughout each stage of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage comprehensive project documentation and control systems.
- Organize document registers, filing systems, version tracking, and record keeping.
- Compile handover documentation at project completion to support smooth close-out procedures.
- Collaborate with project teams to confirm all documentation is thorough and precise.
- Monitor and pursue completion of any outstanding documentation.
- Assist with health and safety recordkeeping and administrative tasks.
- Actively identify process improvements within document control and office operations.
- Contribute roughly 10% of effort toward office management and general administrative duties to ensure seamless office functionality.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal departments, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Exhibit initiative and flexibility as the role evolves alongside business growth.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in document control, project administration, or office coordination roles.
- Exceptional organizational capabilities and a meticulous eye for detail.
- Comfortable overseeing documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Proactive mindset with a strong ability to recognize and resolve issues independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Word and Excel.
- Experience in the construction sector is a plus but not mandatory.
- Ability to support health and safety documentation and related procedures.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with diverse groups.
- Adaptable to changing demands within an evolving role.
