Job description

Overview

DGC Edits seeks a meticulous and dedicated Video Editor for a long-term contract position based in Mumbai. The role focuses on corporate and branded video post-production, primarily servicing European clients. This opportunity is suited to professionals who prioritize accuracy, orderliness, and quality over flashy effects and trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce organized and clean timelines maintaining professional editing workflows.
  • Create alternate versions from interview footage for corporate videos, customer stories, and event content.
  • Edit corporate interviews and B-roll while adhering to master timelines and templates.
  • Generate social media cut-downs from completed projects ensuring brand consistency.
  • Update and modify lower thirds and motion graphics using After Effects with intermediate proficiency.
  • Perform multiple rounds of revisions, maintaining consistency across all video elements.
  • Organize project files, timelines, footage, and assets with clear folder structures and naming conventions.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on titles, graphics, audio, subtitles, branding, and final exports before delivery.

Essential Skills and Software

  • Strong proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is highly preferred; openness to transition from Premiere Pro is accepted.
  • Mid-level knowledge of Adobe After Effects to handle existing motion graphic projects.

What We Value Most

  • Superior organization skills ensuring that project folders, timelines, assets, and versions are managed cleanly and logically.
  • Reliability in meeting deadlines and proactive communication about any issues or delays.

Work Environment and Collaboration

  • Work closely with DGC Edits team, European production partners, senior editors, and motion designers.
  • Open communication, readiness to receive feedback, and continuous workflow improvement are essential.

Candidate Profile – Not Suitable For Applicants Who:

  • Prefer YouTube or reel-style editing over corporate projects.
  • Are impatient with revisions or have disorganized editing habits.
  • Send unreviewed drafts or miss deadlines without communication.
  • Avoid challenges, are inconsistent in employment, or are unwilling to learn DaVinci Resolve.

Selection Process

  • Portfolio evaluation and interview.
  • Practical editing test including detailed quality control assessments.
  • Workflow and organization review.
  • Final discussions with DGC and client interaction.

Application Requirements

Interested candidates should send a CV, portfolio/showreel, software proficiency, years of experience, location, current and expected compensation, notice period, and answers to a detailed quality check question illustrating their video review process before client delivery.
