Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement data virtualization layers along with base, derived, and interface virtual views.
• Integrate disparate data sources including relational databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and flat files.
• Create logical and semantic data models to support enterprise-level reporting requirements.
• Develop Denodo views, VQL scripts, and data services such as REST and SOAP interfaces.
• Build reusable data services and make them accessible to downstream applications.
• Perform data transformation, joins, and design complex data pipelines within the Denodo platform.
• Enhance query efficiency by employing caching, indexing, and federated queries, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and address any bottlenecks or issues.
• Apply data security mechanisms including masking and role-based access controls to ensure compliance with enterprise governance policies.
• Manage metadata, data lineage, and auditing processes to maintain data governance standards.
• Configure and manage Denodo environments across development, testing, and production stages.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, monitor and resolve platform issues, manage deployments, scheduler jobs, and configurations.
• Support incident management and production operational activities.
• Collaborate closely with data architects, business analysts, and business intelligence teams to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Offer expert technical advice and support to project stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering data models, integration workflows, and development standards.
• Establish and enforce best practices for Denodo development and deployment, encouraging knowledge sharing within teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong expertise in working with the Denodo platform including both development and administrative tasks.
• In-depth understanding of data virtualization principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and Denodo’s VQL language.
• Experience in developing logical and semantic data models.
• Familiarity with web service APIs including REST and SOAP, and data interchange formats such as JSON and XML.
• Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes.
• Hands-on experience with relational database systems like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
