Deli Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in retail and customer service. This role is focused on delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining the deli department's cleanliness and organization. You will be responsible for handling the sales and preparation of deli products following strict safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize the deli section, ensuring all areas are clean and well presented.
• Rotate stock effectively, monitor product expiry dates, and check for any spoiled or expired items.
• Ensure all merchandise has accurate signage and pricing.
• Comply with food safety standards including cold chain management, thermometer calibration, proper food handling, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by or expiration dates.
• Take customer orders for deli products, perform slicing and preparation of meat, cheese, and fried chicken.
• Support front end associates by assisting with price checks when needed.
• Use equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers to prepare foods; prepare salads and side dishes for display and customer orders as required.
• Keep the deli area free from clutter, debris, liquids, and foreign objects to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to meet physical demands and follow food safety guidelines.

Additional Information
