Day Porter

About the Role

The Salthill Hotel, a prominent and friendly establishment located along the scenic Galway coastline, prides itself on exceptional service, comfortable lodging, and an active events schedule. We are looking for an enthusiastic and approachable Day Porter to become a part of our team.

Key Duties

• Warmly welcome guests as they arrive and assist with their luggage.
• Guide guests to their rooms and provide details about hotel amenities.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and address guest needs promptly.
• Offer insights on local attractions, transportation options, and amenities in Galway.
• Keep the lobby, entrance, and public areas clean and well-presented at all times.

Events and Functions Responsibilities

• Support the setup and dismantling of event spaces such as weddings, conferences, and other functions.
• Arrange furniture, staging, and equipment according to event requirements.
• Ensure event rooms are tidy, organised, and prepared punctually.
• Assist the events team during functions to guarantee smooth execution.
• Maintain high presentation standards throughout all events.

Candidate Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service capabilities.
• A positive, professional, and friendly demeanor.
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, moving furniture, and handling luggage.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and during busy events.
• Previous experience in hospitality or events is beneficial but not mandatory.
