About the Role
The Internal Security Department (ISD) plays a vital role in protecting Singapore's internal security by addressing threats such as foreign subversive activities, espionage, racial and religious extremism, and terrorism. With a legacy spanning over 75 years, ISD remains committed to ensuring Singapore remains safe, secure, and sovereign.
Within ISD, data is central to operational success. As data use and analytics expand, robust data security and management are crucial for secure operations. Joining the Data and AI Governance unit reporting to the Chief Data Officer, you will collaborate with experts in data governance and security, gaining hands-on experience in areas like Data and AI policy creation, security risk consulting, data asset oversight, and data strategy planning. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to provide advice on data security, compliance, and risks to enhance operational effectiveness through data and AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, update, and enforce comprehensive data governance policies throughout the data lifecycle.
- Respond to data governance inquiries and guide stakeholders on compliance, focusing on sensitive and personal data handling.
- Participate in data governance programs including conducting security risk assessments, reviewing data access requests, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain data integrity by performing regular audits and risk evaluations on critical data assets.
- Assist with reporting and managing data-related incidents.
- Foster a proactive environment that promotes data and analytics excellence within the organization.
Eligibility and Qualifications
- Degree holder in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred: At least 2 years of experience in data governance, management, or similar domains.
- Knowledge of IM8 framework, data protection, and governance principles is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork orientation and dedication to collective objectives.
- Good command of written communication and proficiency using data and digital tools.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Fresh graduates with enthusiasm for data governance, protection, and security are encouraged to apply.
