Overview
JAL International Co. Ltd. is actively seeking a skilled Data Center Planner to become a part of our Data Centers & Critical Facilities / Information Technology division in Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on comprehensive management and planning tasks to support the efficient operation and infrastructure of the data center.
Key Duties
- Planning capacity requirements for data center hosting services.
- Creating detailed racking diagrams and managing rack deployment processes.
- Supervising racking activities conducted by Data Center Operations teams.
- Organizing shift schedules for Data Center Operations staff.
- Liaising with Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) teams to ensure proper interbuilding connectivity.
- Maintaining the Data Center Asset Register accurately.
- Coordinating vendor relations and handling hardware repair and break-fix tasks.
- Assisting in troubleshooting server hardware problems for Windows and Linux systems.
- Monitoring critical infrastructure components such as UPS, HVAC systems, fire detection and suppression mechanisms, environmental factors like temperature and humidity, security setups, and power distribution systems.
- Ensuring all copper and fiber cabling complies with the TIA-942 standards.
Candidate Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- At least five years of professional experience in IT, including a minimum of three years working specifically within data centers.
- Hands-on experience with APC infrastructure is mandatory.
- Competence in configuring and troubleshooting Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of structured copper and fiber-optic cabling systems.
- Basic familiarity with UPS, electrical power distribution, and chilled-water HVAC operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and being available for on-call rotations when necessary.
