Team Overview
The Workday Security Architecture team works closely with product and engineering groups to safeguard application services, infrastructure, and data. We empower rapid and secure software deployment by embedding strong security practices at every stage.
Role Summary
We seek an experienced and innovative Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance our team with broad expertise in security technologies and domains. You will collaborate directly with development teams to evaluate and design security controls aligned with Workday's objectives, contributing technical leadership and mentorship.
Primary Responsibilities
- Integrate secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles into technologies, supporting threat modeling across the development community.
- Analyze system architectures critically and recommend enhancements and controls for new and existing services.
- Promote a positive security mindset among partnered service teams.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Software Engineering, or Public Cloud Platform Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years working with public cloud platforms such as GCP and/or AWS, with expertise in automation and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of security concepts including authentication, authorization, role-based access control, encryption, and penetration testing.
Additional Skills & Attributes:
- Capability to advance operational and project-related workstreams.
- Experience in enterprise application development with proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, Scala, Golang, Rust, or Python.
- Familiarity with securing and working alongside Agentic AI tools and systems.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with Security Champions and development teams.
- Skilled in developing, deploying, and maintaining security solutions, including automation of repetitive security tasks and controls.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
The base salary for this position ranges from €70,200 to €105,400 EUR annually. Employees may also be eligible for bonuses and stock grants as part of the comprehensive benefits package. The role offers flexibility through a hybrid work model, expecting at least 50% time spent in office or on-site engagements each quarter.
