Customs Broker

Overview

This position focuses on effectively managing and executing customs clearance processes for import, export, transit, and re-export shipments, ensuring strict adherence to the Saudi Arabian customs laws, regulations, and procedures. The Customs Broker is the primary liaison coordinating with Saudi government authorities such as ZATCA, SFDA, customs ports, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to guarantee timely shipment releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee customs clearance steps for shipments entering and leaving the Kingdom, including transit and re-export cases.
• Monitor customs declarations throughout the stages from initial registration to final clearance.
• Address customs notifications, inspection requests, observations, and approval processes promptly.
• Work closely with customs officials to resolve any clearance challenges and accelerate shipment processing.
• Ensure all customs prerequisites are fulfilled prior to arranging shipment delivery.
• Organize and track customs inspection and physical examination requirements.
• Coordinate attendance at customs inspection procedures as necessary and handle follow-up on inspection outcomes.
• Resolve any discrepancies identified during inspections and coordinate further inspections or approvals as needed.
• Confirm completion of all clearance requirements before requesting final shipment release.
• Verify shipment release status and collaborate with transportation teams to schedule cargo movement and delivery.
• Comply fully with Saudi customs laws, regulations, and company policies at all times.
• Stay updated on amendments and changes in customs rules and procedures.
• Operate strictly within the bounds of customers' customs authorizations and established company procedures.
• Maintain high standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behavior in all professional dealings.

Qualification

Familiarity with Saudi customs electronic platforms such as Fasah is preferred.
