Customer Delivery Driver - Risca Extra

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you represent the company directly to customers by delivering their groceries to their homes. This position goes beyond just driving; it involves engaging with customers warmly and ensuring excellent service throughout the delivery process. The job requires physical activity and offers diverse daily tasks, with much of the work conducted independently but supported by a team of managers and colleagues at the base.

The hourly pay begins at 1418, increasing to 1545 in stores located within the M25 area. Additional location-based payments may apply. The role guarantees at least 16 working hours per week, with some roles available from 12 hours weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your delivery van, trays, and work environment to ensure all orders are delivered in perfect condition.
• Load goods safely into the van and perform thorough checks to confirm the vehicle's safety and readiness for deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers about any changes or substitutions in their orders, including explaining short-dated products and facilitating refunds to maintain positive customer experiences.
• Handle all products carefully and treat every order with personal care to uphold quality and trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the assigned time slots, providing courteous and friendly service that makes customers feel appreciated and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Foster strong working relationships with team members to promote a positive team environment and enhance service quality.
• Exhibit a warm and friendly demeanor towards both customers and colleagues.
• Adapt quickly to changes in customer needs and embrace flexibility both on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU or EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points on record.
