About the Role
Join Lidl Ireland as a Customer Assistant based in Kildare, where your main focus is to craft an exceptional shopping experience for every visitor. If you are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and eager to learn daily, this role offers an engaging and varied work environment with a standard 30-hour weekly contract, earning from 460+ per week.
Typical Daily Activities
Though each day varies, typical shifts include:
- Morning shift starts at 5am or 6am, involving restocking products and preparing freshly baked goods to welcome customers on opening.
- Middle shift begins mid-morning or early afternoon, featuring store upkeep, product freshness checks, customer support on the sales floor, and operating tills efficiently.
- Late shift in the afternoon focuses on cashier duties, replenishing stock, and prepping the store for the following day.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage customers courteously and helpfully during interactions.
- Adhere strictly to stock loss prevention protocols across all store areas.
- Maintain pristine cleanliness and hygiene standards both within and outside the store.
- Apply stock freshness and rotation guidelines diligently.
- Proper management of all waste produced.
- Support stock counting processes as required.
Required Qualities and Experience
- A positive, proactive attitude combined with excellent customer service skills.
- Willingness to exert additional effort to support customer satisfaction.
- Dependability and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Comfort with working in a dynamic, fast-moving retail environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
- Previous customer-facing experience preferred but not mandatory if the attitude matches expectations.
- Must be 18 years or older to handle alcohol sales.

- Year 1: 15.40 basic, 19.25 unsocial hours, 23.10 overtime/Sundays, 30.80 bank holidays.
- Year 2: 16.20 basic, 20.25 unsocial hours, 24.30 overtime/Sundays, 32.40 bank holidays.
- Year 3: 16.90 basic, 21.13 unsocial hours, 25.35 overtime/Sundays, 33.80 bank holidays.
- Year 4: 17.90 basic, 22.38 unsocial hours, 26.85 overtime/Sundays, 35.80 bank holidays.
