Job Overview
The Custodian position at Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is a full-time onsite role dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and safety within school facilities and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain assigned areas by performing cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing floors, cleaning bathrooms, carpets, and removal of trash and debris.
- Relocate furniture, equipment, and materials to facilitate cleaning and upkeep of the building and school grounds.
- Support the Head Custodian and Custodian by undertaking minor repairs, upkeep tasks, and grounds maintenance as needed.
- Alert the Head Custodian regarding any repairs or safety issues that require attention.
- Operate cleaning machinery and equipment properly for floor care and grounds maintenance.
- Assist in securing the school by switching off lights, locking doors and windows, and occasionally helping with opening the building.
- Carry out additional duties required to promote a safe and efficient environment for students and staff.
Required Qualification
A High School Diploma or its equivalent is necessary to qualify for this role.
