Position Overview
The Custodial Worker 1 role at the Department of Transportation in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, is designed to support safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities and grounds. This full-time job involves hands-on work to ensure public spaces are presentable and functional for daily use, providing a sense of pride and responsibility for the upkeep of transportation-related environments.
Job Duties
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks including maintenance of lavatories, offices, garages, and meeting rooms.
- Perform building maintenance duties such as collecting trash, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, washing windows, and caring for floors.
- Handle grounds maintenance by using small machinery and tools for mowing grass, trimming plants, and managing landscaped areas.
- Address seasonal responsibilities like snow and ice removal from walkways, leaf clearing, and minor cleanup after storms.
- Execute minor repair work such as changing light bulbs and reporting maintenance needs to supervisors as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation by completing required forms and tracking purchases, invoices, and delivery receipts.
Working Conditions & Compensation
- Full-time schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.
- No telework option available; onsite presence is required.
- Starting salary for new hires is $36,010 annually before taxes.
