Job description

Overview

The Courier Products Controller oversees all financial operations tied to Express, Domestic, and Shop and Ship courier services. This position ensures accurate revenue recognition, effective cost management, margin oversight, forecasting, and budgeting processes. It also aligns freight and logistics outcomes with financial goals and operational key performance indicators. The role can be based in Riyadh or Jeddah.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee prompt and precise revenue recognition adhering to corporate policies and accounting standards.
  • Validate accruals, billing correctness, and identify possible revenue losses.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to secure complete and accurate shipment data.
  • Work with commercial teams to ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Examine costs including supplier invoices, outsourcing expenses, domestic linehaul, delivery agents, and overhead allocations.
  • Review cost structures and operating costs on the ground, coordinating with operations to enhance profitability within the company’s risk thresholds.
  • Analyze Degree of Operating Leverage (DOL) and partner with operations for planning.
  • Monitor margin metrics at the product, lane, customer, and route levels, identifying opportunities to improve margins through optimized costs and pricing.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for courier products.
  • Generate monthly performance reports, key performance indicators, and variance analyses.
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with operations managers, procurement, and commercial teams to support financial decisions related to pricing, tenders, route changes, and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as CMA, ACCA, or CPA are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in finance, preferably related to Courier operations.
  • At least 3 years in a controlling or financial planning and analysis (FP&A) role.
  • Proficient understanding of courier costing methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of revenue recognition principles and IFRS standards.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Experience with cost allocation, route costing, and yield analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems like SAP or CW, and business intelligence tools.
