Job description
Position Overview
Gold Fields Ghana is looking for a skilled and experienced Control Room Operator to join the Metallurgy department at its Tarkwa site. The successful applicant will oversee planning, controlling, and performing operational tasks as per established protocols to maintain safe and efficient metallurgical processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, control, and execute tasks to meet safety and quality standards by identifying and reporting deviations within the metallurgical process.
- Drive achievement of production targets both qualitatively and quantitatively by optimizing the use of available resources.
- Promote cost-saving measures and initiatives aimed at improving productivity.
- Coordinate and organize task execution adhering strictly to established controls and procedures.
- Maintain and promote a safe, supportive workplace environment in line with engineering standards and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance.
- Assume responsibility for personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- At least a Senior High School Certificate is required.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a comparable role.
- Strong knowledge of Control Room operations.
- Possess a valid Certificate of Competence issued by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English; able to work with diverse cultures.
- Hands-on working style with readiness to work extended hours to meet objectives.
- Capable of taking initiative and managing tasks responsibly through to completion.
- Must hold a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and be skilled in operating light vehicles.
