Role Overview
The Contracts Administrator will be part of BESIX Watpac’s South Australia team in Adelaide, focusing on sizable construction projects. The role entails active involvement in contract management and project administration paired with a focus on safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce company safety policies aligned with occupational health and safety legislations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Manage the tendering process for subcontractor packages including document preparation, distribution, receipt, evaluation, and recommendation submissions.
- Draft and prepare contractual documentation for each subcontractor or trade package.
- Support the Project Manager with administration tasks such as handling subcontract progress and variation claims and managing other related financial aspects.
- Contribute to monthly consolidated reports covering cash flow forecasts, status of variations, contractual issues, and cost evaluations.
- Develop and implement an efficient project administration system at site or office level in compliance with company procedures and standards.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or relevant equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in a similar contracts administration role within the building construction sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate effectively across various business levels and teams.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment, initiative, and decision-making capabilities.
- Capability to manage evolving work priorities and deliver consistent results in a dynamic environment.
