Role Overview
We invite you to join our Ras Al Khaimah office as a Contract Administrator who will serve as the commercial core of projects. This role involves managing contract lifecycles to protect the client's financial and legal interests. Daily duties include assessing contractor payment applications versus site progress, scrutinizing variation orders and delay claims, and verifying that all work performed complies strictly with contractual standards before authorizing payments.
Key Duties
- Ensure contracts and related documents meet client contracting standards in terms of completeness and compliance.
- Support project management in tracking and reviewing the status of contracts and tenders.
- Monitor adherence to contract conditions and internal protocols, guaranteeing all contractual milestones are fulfilled.
- Analyze contract data, variations, and trends to provide strategic advice and corrective recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain and update the contract management information system, safeguarding all original contract records.
- Prepare regular reports on contract status and performance for management.
- Maintain thorough records of all contract and tender correspondence, claims, and documentation.
- Handle contractor payment applications including interim certificates and final accounts accurately against verified site progress.
- Evaluate variation orders and claims, providing independent financial and schedule impact analyses.
- Coordinate with site engineers to confirm that all performed work matches contractual and quality requirements prior to payment releases.
- Manage contractual notices, extensions of time, and liquidated damages to shield client interests.
- Oversee project close-out including issuing taking-over certificates, monitoring defect liabilities, and managing retention bond releases.
- Mitigate contractual disputes by proactive risk and contract interpretation management.
- Verify the validity of contractor insurances, performance bonds, and related guarantees throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role within a Project Management Consultancy or Construction Management context.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering is required.
- Professional affiliation such as MRICS / RICS qualification is highly desirable.
