Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer located in Manchester. This role offers an exciting chance to work within a team that operates modern CNC machinery, focusing on quality, safety, continuous improvement, and career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis vertical milling machines to produce precision components.
- Ensure the production of precise parts maintaining accuracy throughout manufacturing cycles.
- Prepare tooling, fixtures, and associated job documentation ahead of production runs.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal function.
- Manage operation of multiple machines when applicable.
- Inspect components using both automated CNC and manual Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
- Ensure adherence to engineering drawings and quality standards for all parts produced.
- Identify and report production or engineering challenges to Team Leaders, Production Planning, and Engineering teams.
- Comply with all Health & Safety protocols and support 5S methodologies and continuous improvement processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Completion of a Time Served Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent background in engineering.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in setting and running 3, 4, & 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of vertical machining centers.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and machining precision parts.
- Understanding of machining techniques and engineering best practices.
- Familiarity with Fanuc or Mazak CNC control systems.
- Experience using CMM inspection equipment.
- Comprehension of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and quality management systems.

Additional Information
